Vaugirard Scholarship Program
What is the Vaugirard Scholarship Program?
The scholarship program is named after Vaugirard, France, the location where St. John Baptist de La Salle founded his first novitiate. The house in Vaugirard became a refuge and a place where the Christian Brothers deepen their spirituality, strengthen their relationships through fellowship and prayer, and renew the zeal to continue the mission of providing free education for all.
As an important resource of the nation, ¿ªÔªÕæÈËcontinuously nurtures a community of distinguished scholars. This scholarship program aims to create a positive social transformation in the grantees.Â
Beginning AY 2012-2013, the University provides fifty (50) new scholarship slots every year exclusively for students who graduated from Philippine public/science high schools. This scholarship program offers students the chance to access a Lasallian education across various baccalaureate programs at De La Salle University.Â
The application fee for all graduating public secondary school students is free. However, applicants must secure an examination permit which can be obtained upon submission of admission requirements.
Scholars enrolled under the Human Biology (HUM-BIO) program of the College of Science are awarded full scholarships during their first two years of residency in ¿ªÔªÕæÈË. The Grant will not cover payment of tuition and fees when they transfer to the De La Salle Medical Health and Sciences Institute (DLSM-HSI) campus for the continuation of their medical degree.
Vaugirard scholars who are enrolled in baccalaureate-master’s or BSMS programs will enjoy the benefit of the scholarship until they finish the program provided it is within the duration indicated in the curriculum checklist.
What are the benefits of a Vaugirard Scholar?
The scholarship offers 100% waiver on tuition and fees. Effective AY 2025-2026, scholars will receive a monthly stipend of Eighteen Thousand Pesos (Php18,000.00) to cover accommodation, meals, transportation and communication, school supplies and other school-related expenses.Â
Other benefits include advance enrollment privilege, graduation fee incentives, alumni fee membership incentives, Latin Honors incentives, and exchange program benefit, which ensures that scholars participating in exchange programs can continue to receive scholarship coverage, provided they meet the necessary requirements and comply with the regulations set by the Office of Admissions and Scholarships.
How can one be a Vaugirard Scholar?
Applicants who excel and rank among the top examinees in the ¿ªÔªÕæÈË College Admission Test are invited for further screening, where a University committee assesses their qualifications and determines the final recipients.
